Airport
IAJ provides comprehensive ground handling and VIP services at airports throughout Japan. Permits
Depending on your plans and flight classification, permits for overflights, landing, and/or domestic (cabotage) flights may be required. In some cases, additional special permits will also be required. Review our PERMITS page to learn permit requirements or contact us for details.
CIQ
At most airports in Japan, business jet and charter passengers are required to clear Customs and Immigration in the main terminal. The business jet terminals at some airports are available for private clearance upon request and for an additional fee. See our CIQ page to learn how IAJ staff can streamline the process for you.
Charges
Charges in Japan are established by the government and include landing fees, parking fees, air navigation fees, and CIQ fees. These fees vary depending on the airport and operational requirements. Please refer to our Airport Charges page for detailed information or contact us for a tailored cost estimate for your planned operation into Japan.
Administrative Support
Slots and Parking
Please provide the airport of operation, preferred arrival and departure time slots, and aircraft details. Our team will coordinate with the relevant airport authorities to confirm the schedule and secure the required airport slot and parking position (SLOT and SPOT applications).
Permit Applications
For business jets or foreign charter aircraft to land at any Japanese airport, an operating permit may be required. We submit applications for these permits to the aviation authorities of Japan on behalf of the clients. The application must be submitted at least 3 business days before the flight operation date for business charter flights, and at least 10 days in advance of any passenger charter or cargo charter flight.

On-site Supervisory Services
IAJ’s supervisory staff provide professional oversight of your ground operation. IAJ will manage and coordinate the activities of all ground service providers on behalf of your airline. Our team of professionals will anticipate and prevent irregularities and ensure that your ground operations in Japan proceed smoothly.
Flight Plan Filing
We’ll file your ATC FPL in a timely manner. We can also provide detailed AIP information such as airport restrictions and recommended routes from each airport (i.e., STAR/SID etc.).
Weather Info Services
We provide the latest weather information and forecasts needed for safe flight operations including wind conditions en route, and at departure and arrival locations. Data is sourced from authorities in Japan and other agencies.
Airport Info Services
We provide crews with NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) and other notices of operational importance, including AIPs and AICs, at every airport of operation in Japan.
Aircraft Handling
Aircraft Service
At Tokyo International Airport (RJTT) and Narita International Airport (RJAA), aircraft are serviced exclusively using IAJ’s own equipment and dedicated personnel. We plan to expand these services to additional airports in the near future.
Fuel Services
We arrange fuel at competitive pricing at airports throughout Japan for both domestic and international operations. Our team coordinates closely with into-plane agents to ensure efficient and reliable refueling services.
VIPs and Crew Escort
Our hospitality professionals escort passengers and crew smoothly through the airport terminal prior to departure and after arrival. Our fleet of service vehicles includes buses, vans, and luxury sedans.
Catering
We arrange in-flight meals through a network of food services companies, contracted caterers and hotel catering services. Tokyo’s major airports offer a full range of catering options, while at smaller regional airports hotels are the only option to arrange deluxe catering.
